About Us

Etienne

In my thirties, I was ready to die.

An infection had left me with less than twenty percent of my kidney function and no working heart valves. The doctors couldn't do much, and I could do even less. So I did the only thing left — I panicked.

Seeing no way out, I started to meditate. Death arrived and left without me.

In that waiting, I met a Silence so total, no fear, no struggle — total acceptance, total clarity. Out of this clarity, I was able to heal my body.

Finding that silence again

I left my teaching job in Antwerp — I had taught biology and physical education for years — and went to India. There, in the middle of an immersive training in meditation and bodywork, I touched a cranium for the first time.

I knew it immediately: of everything I had ever searched for, this was the closest thing to that Silence.

I studied with Dr. John Upledger in Florida for a few years and began to teach — founding schools in Belgium and the Netherlands, teaching for many years at universities and healing academies in the United States. Together with my partner Neeto, I wrote a book on Craniosacral work for babies and small children.

That's the part a résumé would tell you. But none of it is the point.

What I actually teach

Your hands don't need to learn some advanced techniques — those are easy. They need to learn to be quiet.

In my classes, there are therapists, and there are people who have never done bodywork in their lives. The difference between them is smaller than you'd think. Because this work doesn't start in the mind — it starts in no-mind, you can allow the mind to go on vacation. Let presence do the work.

Becoming a practitioner is just the byproduct of learning how to access the intelligence that created our body. The more we allow this intelligence to function through us, the deeper the healing becomes.

Now

I teach around the world — about the brain, about birthing, about death and dying, about the life force. I return regularly to the schools I founded in the Netherlands to give Masterclasses.

After more than forty years of meditation and over thirty years of this work, I have become certain of one thing:

This Silence was never mine. It lives in you. It lives in me.

My work is simply to sit with you until you find it again.
